The travel lift installed few months ago within the superyachts village proceeds beyond expectations. In addition to a high demand for maintenance and stopover from the yachts, several requests have been received from tugboats for haulage for scheduled maintenance. The first vessels on the travel lift have been the tugs NUNKI and SAIPH, each one with a weight of 400 tons, L.O.A of 25 metres and beam of 8 metres.
These tugboats, operating in Libya, discovered the convenience to come to Malta for their maintenance, knowing of such important facility installed few months ago which has encountered a considerable interest thanks to its proximity to Libya.
This demand proves that the produced investment is a huge opportunity for Malta to establish as a benchmark for all the vessels which before were forced to travel further away from their off-shore operational sites.
